Are you interested in birth photography, but worried about the cost? I get it – birth photography can be expensive, and it’s important to understand why. So let’s talk about it!
If you are married or have been a part of a wedding, you know that hiring the right photographer is a big deal. Why? Because the photos and the marriage license are the only memories you have left when the day is done.
Well, this is mostly the same for the birth day of your baby. Yes, you’ll have a little bundle of tangible proof of this day, but that sweet baby grows and changes every single day from this day forward! Plus, add in all of the amazing birth hormones that cloud your memory of the day. (You know, the same ones that make us forget how hard it is and makes us want more kids!)
So you hire a photographer that knows their sh*t and specializes in their genre so you know they will consistently deliver beautiful images. You only get one shot to document these memories, and you’ll want to remember one of the most important days of your life forever, right?!
Now, let me help you have a general understanding about the cost of birth photography!
Birth photography requires a specialized skill set and experience.
As a birth photographer, I’m not just a skilled photographer, I also have a deep understanding of childbirth and the birthing process. I know how to work with low light situations, respect your privacy and intimacy, and most importantly, I know how to capture the moments that matter most.
Birth photography takes a lot of time.
Births can last a few hours or even up to a day or more. As your birth photographer, I’m on-call 24/7 leading up to your due date, and I’ll often spend several hours editing and processing the photos after the birth to ensure that the final product meets my high standards and your expectations.
The cost of birth photography includes more than just the time spent at the birth and editing the photos.
It also covers the cost of professional-grade camera equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and editing software. Additionally, I invest in ongoing training and education so I am always improving my skills and evolving as an artist.
What is the cost of birth photography in Longmont?
The cost of a birth photographer can vary depending on experience and the services and products offered. On average, you can expect to pay anywhere from $1,500 to $4,000 for a birth photography package that includes digital files with a print release (which means the ability to print an unlimited
number of images at the lab of your choice).
But, why?
Birth is a life-changing experience that you’ll never forget. Having professional photos to look back on can help you remember all the emotions, details, and love that surrounded you during that special time. These photos are not just for you; they’re a gift to your child. They’ll show them how loved and welcomed they were from the very beginning, and these images will be cherished by you, your child, and your family for generations to come.
How do I help make the cost of birth photography more attainable?
I want to make sure that everyone who wants to capture their birth story through photography has the opportunity to do so. That’s why I offer payment plans to make the investment more manageable. I also accept payments from friends and relatives that want to help as a baby shower gift. And I’m open to bartering services occasionally, too, so it never hurts to ask about these options. I’m committed to making sure that you can have access to the beautiful, timeless images that you deserve!
Birth photography may seem expensive, but it’s an investment in preserving memories, celebrating life, and honoring the birthing process. So, if you’re considering birth photography, know that it’s worth every penny and more! Don’t just take my word for it đŸ˜‰ Here is what some of my clients had to say
about their investment:
“When the [photos] were sent to me, reliving that day.. it was magic. I knew immediately that we had made the best decision not only having Sloane’s birth photographed.. but having Kylie doing the photography. Even the most raw moments were captured so beautifully. We will be able to look back on that day forever and relive it, sharing those moments with Sloane and the boys when they are ready.”

“I chose to have my birth photographed because the rush of hormones makes you forget all the little details. I’ve seen so many births as a pediatrician, and I wanted to remember MY birth from that perspective as well. I’m so grateful that Kylie got pictures of all the little things they do – the CPAP, the vitamin K and eye ointment, the foot stamping, putting on the bracelet, clamping the umbilical cord… I’ve seen it all hundreds of times but it’s so special to be able to see that on my own baby. I feel like I would have missed out on my birth details without those. When I saw my birth photos that Kylie made for us, I cried happy tears. I was overwhelmed with how beautiful it all looked, how she captured so many moments of connection and so much emotion between Peter and me, and all the close-ups of Max like his little feet and his umbilical cord. It was as if I got to be all over the room when it was happening instead of just in the bed watching from one perspective.”
