Meet Lily: Your Go-To NoCo VBAC Doula

Okay if you’ve ever landed on Lily’s Instagram… you already know! She’s funny and real, and one of the sweetest humans ever in real life. She is seriously so fun to follow on IG!

From Traumatic Cesarean to VBAC Doula in NoCo

Lily’s story started the way a lot of powerful birth stories do… with a really hard experience.

She shared, “After my traumatic cesarean, I began devouring every VBAC story I could get my hands on.”

It led me to discovering The VBAC Link, a podcast and resource for those navigating their options for birth after cesarean. Eventually they had a job opening and I applied on a whim, not thinking I would get it. But Meagan, the founder, saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself and I came on board to run The VBAC Link Social Media. Eventually in November 2024, a year after being on the TVL Team, I got my own redemptive VBAC.

My own doula was so crucial to both of my births and I finally decided to make the leap to in person doula support in spring of 2025 because I wanted to empower other women to feel as seen and held as I did in my own births. Now I am the only VBAC-certified doula in Northern Colorado! Around the same time, Meagan at The VBAC Link came to me and asked if I would co-host the podcast and so my role expanded to co-host with my amazing co-worker Paige in 2026!!

What She Loves Most About This Work

“My favorite thing is giving women solidarity and an opportunity to feel seen. Whether that’s through in-person doula support or connecting with Women of Strength in the VBAC community online, there’s truly nothing better.”

Whether it’s in person or online, she’s constantly showing up for women who need someone in their corner.

She shared that after recording her own birth story on the podcast, that women reached out saying it “inspired them to plan their own VBAC.”

Let’s Clear Something Up About VBAC Doulas

Lily said this so well. A lot of people assume that as a VBAC mom and a NoCo VBAC doula, she only supports VBAC births or thinks that’s the “best” way to give birth. But that’s not it at all.

“I believe deeply that you should birth however you feel the safest and most empowered.”

YESSSS!

“I don’t believe there is a one size fits all birth plan… we all get to do it differently.”

That’s exactly the kind of energy you should want in your birth space!

Her “This Is a Sign” Moment

Her very first client actually commented on her Instagram asking if she had ever thought about becoming a doula… And she told her that she in fact HAD been thinking about it! She literally screenshot it and sent it to Kylee of Kylee The Doula + Co like,
“is this a sign?!” (It was! 😌)

And now here she is, member of the KTD + Co doula team in Northern Colorado!

Her Top Advice (Especially If You’re Considering a VBAC)

She keeps it real and practical:

  • “Different baby, different birth.” No matter how things shake out, you have the power to influence this outcome and history is not doomed to repeat itself.
  • “Your preparation matters. Don’t just “wing it” or “see how it goes”. Commit to the birth you are dreaming of and do the work, it will make a difference.”
  • “Once a c-section not always a c-section. VBACs are safe and reasonable options for MOST women following a cesarean birth. You can absolutely fight for a different experience.”

Outside of the Birth World… She’s Doing All the Things 😂

She teaches fitness classes for fun, is an “avid romantasy reader” (you all know I love a book girly), and is thoroughly obsessed with her kids.

If she wasn’t doing doula work, she says, “I spent 7 years working in the coolest community health program (UCHealth’s Healthy Hearts and Minds program) and I actually am still a PRN employee because I just coundn’t say goodbye. So I imagine I’d still be there full time if it weren’t for doula work and the podcast. I loved getting to work with students and watch them have lightbulb moments that taking care of their body was worthwhile. I am so proud of the work I did with that program and the hand I had in developing the programs as a program coordinator.”

Why I’m Sharing Lily as a NoCo VBAC Doula

Because if you’re navigating birth after cesarean… you deserve someone who:

  • actually gets it
  • has lived it
  • will support YOU, not push an agenda
  • and will hype you up while also keeping it real

And that’s Lily.
