You just had twins—which basically means you’ve leveled up in cuteness and in chaos. Welcome to the twin mom club, where there’s always one baby asleep and the other one wide awake (because of course). As a Northern Colorado twin mom specializing in lifestyle newborn photography, let me tell you: yes, it’s a little wild. And yes, it’s absolutely worth documenting.
In-home twin newborn sessions hold a special space in my heart because I’ve lived it, and there’s nothing sweeter than double the baby yawns, snuggles, and squishy baby-ness. But those sleepless nights also mean that the memories of this time will get fuzzy real fast!

Here’s what to expect
1. You Don’t Have to Have It All Together. Seriously.
My house was a disaster when my twins were newborns. Yours might be too—and that’s fine. I’m not coming over to judge your laundry pile. I’m there to capture connection, chaos, and all the sweetness in between. We’ll focus on snuggles on the couch, babies in your arms, and the sweet moments.
2. I Work Around the Twin Schedule—Whatever That Means That Day.
Feeding? Cool. Diaper blowout? Totally normal. Cluster feeding while the other naps? Yep. I’m flexible and patient, and I build in lots of time for breaks, outfit changes, and baby resets. The session typically lasts 1.5–2 hours, depending on how the babies are doing.
3. What to Wear (and What Your Babies Should Wear, Too)
For you: Something comfy and neutral you feel good in. For the babies: simple onesies, swaddle blankets, and even just a diaper. We want to see those belly buttons and baby toes! Pro tip: matching outfits are cute, but not required. The goal is to capture them, not just the clothes.
4. Tips to Make Things Smoother
- Have a few outfits in mind just in case of spit up or poop mishaps
- Don’t worry if someone is fussy—we roll with it
- If older siblings are around, we’ll include them in a way that feels fun and relaxed
- Top tip – don’t stress! I know you’re tired and overwhelmed, I am not there to put any pressure on you or your babies. We are going to do the thing, and the photos will be great.
5. You’ll Get the Real, Tender Stuff.
I’m not at all about stiff poses or perfection. I’m about tiny fingers wrapped around yours, the way you look at them when you think no one’s watching, and that twin magic you feel even when you’re running on three hours of sleep. These are the photos that you’ll come back to again and again.
